Natural Sea Emotions
A 4-star by the sea
Torre Cintola Natural Sea Emotions is a 4-star directly overlooking the sea. It is located in Puglia, in the small town of Capitolo in Monopoli, on an exclusive stretch of the rocky coast and sheltered by two coves of crystal-clear water.
Monopoli is a municipality of around 50 thousand inhabitants located about 40 km from the Bari and Brindisi airports. It is one of the Adriatic Sea’s most active and populated ports, famous for its characteristic medieval old town built on the remains of a fortified Messapian settlement dating back to as early as the 5th century BC, protected by old walls and directly overlooking the sea.
Monopoli is also known as the city of the “hundred city quarters” or country villages, an authentic nod to its idyllic rural setting in the “heart of Puglia”. The municipality is renowned for its historic fortified farms, churches and cave settlements, Trulli (traditional dry stone huts), neoclassical patrician villas and farmhouses. The coastline features an historic defence system dating back to the end of the 16th century, consisting of five coastal towers, which can all be seen from the Castle of Charles V and the Castle of St. Stephen: Torre Incina, Torre D’Orte, Torre Cintola, Torre S. Giorgio and Torre Egnazia. As well as the two castles, only Torre S. Giorgio and, to the south of the city, Torre Cintola, where the it can be found, have been preserved.
At almost 15 km long, the coastline is low and jagged. Home to more than 25 coves and wide sandy beaches, it provides an idyllic setting to go for a swim and explore the underwater world that surrounds us. Dotted with farms and ancient olive trees that are a living testimony to the region’s historic past, the coastal plain makes for a striking landscape.
